Zambia

Some of the world’s best safari opportunities will be found in Zambia, a landlocked tropical country in South Africa. Visitors to Zambia will also be able to  experience the Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Victoria Falls, which Zambia shares with neighbouring Zimbabwe, is one of its famous landmarks which attracts visitors from around the globe.  Thrill-seekers will not get enough having to choose between bungee jumping, bridge swinging or ziplining from the Victoria Falls Bridge or doing white water rafting if heights are not their thing.  Nature lovers will just lose themselves in the sheer beauty of the rainbows and scenery surrounding them.

Livingstone, once Zambia’s colonial capital, is the tourism centre for the falls and is filled with hotels, buzzing nightlife, lots of restaurants and colourful markets.  The banks of the mighty Zambezi River is dotted with numerous riverside lodges and the river itself offers endless opportunities for casual or sunset booze cruising, or various watersport activities.

However in this country visitors will also experience the real raw and romantic African bush.  Whichever type of accommodation, ranging from a variety of bush lodges and camps, you choose to spend your nights in, you are going to be hushed to sleep by the haunting sounds of wildlife like the distant roar of lions, whooping of hyenas and howling owls.

Almost a third of the country’s land consists of national parks and game reserves, and of these South Luangwa National Park is one of the best.  Walking safaris can be undertaken in the park with its high density of big game.

Furthermore Zambia is known for its friendly people who love to welcome visitors to their beautiful country.
