“Liberia’s participation in this event was an effort to promote the Liberian fashion sector in the international community. Liberia has its own textile (country cloth) and we have superb clothing and accessories (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, purses and shoes) made in Liberia. More investment is needed to sustain the Liberian fashion sector and allow for designers to participate in such events going forward. This effort was part of a world tour spanning 3 continents (Americas, Europe and Africa) to educate governments and consumers on Liberian fashion, culture and tourism by showcasing traditional Liberian made apparel and accessories on runway shows and trade exhibitions.” stated Kimma Wreh (Managing Director of TeKay Designs).
