Liberians Overcome Disability to Race for Change

The Bill Rogers Youth Foundation (BRYF) held a successful “5K Run for Change and Fun Walk” on November 30, 2018 in Monrovia, Liberia with approximately seven hundred (700) registered participants and twenty seven (27) winners including people with disabilities.
The 2nd annual race achieved it’s goal of of empowering Liberian Youth and increasing participation in athletic activities. The run/walk commenced at JFK Hospital and ended at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Awards / prizes (medals, cash, school back packs, hardcover notebooks, pencils and rulers) were provided to winners in various categories of participants including Youth and active runners, Elderly and people with disabilities, and Women / girls.
The 2018 Run/Walk session was facilitated by the technical teams of the Liberia Athletic Federation and the Liberia National Olympic Committee of the Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Republic of Liberia along with Bill Rogers, the lead organizer of the project who is a highly experienced international track athlete.
Supporting partners include Liberia Broadcasting System, Africa Investors Group Foundation, Youth for Change and Youth Network for Reform, All Pro Consulting Services, Ecowas Radio, Roots Holdings Inc, Excel Global Media Group, OK FM, among others.
The Bill Rogers Youth Foundation (BRYF) is a nonprofit organization that provides Liberian youths with life-changing sports activities and facilities that offer them the opportunity to discover and develop their natural athletic talents to positively impact their communities.
